Listed below are some frequently asked questions about tubing and float trips:
Water Levels?
Much of the creek is shallow but there are deeper sections. Although Brasstown Creek is NOT dam controlled, water levels may be affected by weather patterns or excessive rain. We may deem that the water level is unsafe and postpone trips to a later date to ensure everyone’s safety.
Do You Provide Life Jackets? Are they Required?
Yes, we provide life jackets at no additional charge. Life jackets are required for children 12 and under on tubing trips. Life jackets required for everyone on kayak trips.
Do You Allow Children on Tubing or Kayak Trips?
Children under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by an adult
What if I Can’t Swim?
If you are uncomfortable in the water or can’t swim, please wear one of the life jackets that we provide
Is the Outpost Handicap Accessible?
We have a handicap accessible ramp, bathrooms, and parking onsite. Please contact us should you have any concerns.
Parking?
We have onsite parking at the outpost. Should this fill up, we have overflow parking at the put-in with transportation back to the outpost available.
What about Car Keys?
We’ll provide envelopes and secure your keys if you wish to leave them at the outpost
Do You Allow Pets?
Yes, we do allow pets on our float trips. Service animals are always welcome, and well behaved pets on leashes are welcome at the outpost. Do not leave pets in vehicles while your are floating down the river. Please be a responsible pet owner. Thanks!
What Should I Wear?
A bathing suit, shorts, tee shirts or whatever you want, but keep in mind that you will get wet. Make sure any glasses or sunglasses are secured with a strap or Croakies®. Don’t forget to bring a change of clothes and towels to dry off. Water shoes are required, if you do not have water shoes, you can purchase them in our giftshop.
Is WiFi Available?
We know you like to stay connected, there is WiFi available at the outpost!
Are Showers Available?
We do have a changing room, however we do not have an outdoor shower or any shower facilities.
Are there Places to Stay Nearby?
Why not camp at West Tubing Company, we offer primitive campsites, platform tents, glamping cabins and more. See our camping and glamping sites here. Camping Facilities are open year-round
If you’re not interested in camping, we have lots of other types of accommodations in the area. We suggest that you contact the Clay County of Commerce for your lodging needs.
What about the Weather?
Our float trips run rain or shine except in the case of extreme weather or electrical storms. Please give us a call if you are in question.

Do you have any Discounts for Groups?
We offer a $5.00 per person DISCOUNT for groups of 20 or more!!!
What about Booking Special Events and Private Functions?
Our facilities are available for special events. They’re great for birthdays, holiday parties, family reunions, weddings, club gatherings, etc. We have 2 options, book “the Barn at West Preserve” for outdoor gatherings or book an indoor function in the main outpost.
*Rental for either venue is $150 for 3 hrs. Let our outpost serve as your next event venue, Give us a call to reserve your space!
*Food, beverages, an extended rental period, and other add-ons are available for an additional fee.
